See, we

See, we're at the top of the Eiffel Tower. Doesn't the shadow prove it?

Day 25

What an up and down day. It was full of highs and lows. It had its peaks and valleys, unlike this post which is all valley so far. What I'm trying to say is that we toured the sewers of Paris and also rode to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

First, the sewers: one visit is enough, thanks. Whatever they pay the people who clean the sewers is not enough. I don't care if they're millionaires. They deserve more. Still, it was interesting to learn about the history of sewers in Paris. One fun factoid: many of the fountains in the city used to be the place to get drinking water. They don't deliver potable (I actually know that word) water anymore, but it was their original purpose.

Anyway, a less smelly subject: the top of the Eiffel Tower. It's the highest structure in Paris, but the general public can actually go higher at Tour Montparnasse (that's coming up in a few days, so hold onto your pants!). The views from the Eiffel Tower are really worth it if you can get in line early enough to not have to wait hours in line. There are three levels at different price points that you can pay to get to, but seriously, if you're gonna go up the Eiffel Tower, go UP the Eiffel Tower. Right? The first two levels can be reached by stairs, but that's completely nutz. The 3rd level is by elevator only. Join me for the ride:
