Day 24

We ventured just a little outside of Paris this day to go to the Marche aux Puces St-Ouen de Clignancourt, the largest flea market in the world. No, I didn't just make that fact up, although it sounds shifty, I know. It really is huge with different market areas featuring different types of items, although there are sections that are just real stores. I normally get overwhelmed at huge markets like this, but Britton wasn't so easily intimidated. He found some neat-o archtectural drawings.

We also wandered the 5th arrondissement. There's an old Roman gladiator arena there that's now, big surprise, a park. There's also the Pantheon that used to be a church, but for many years now, holds the remains of France's great men and women.

We had dinner at a pretty great local restaurant where the owner kept calling Britton a capitalist whenever he came by the table. He plied us with sangrias to start the meal and some brandy fire whiskey to end it. It was a nice meal, even if the owner was insulting Britton or me, by implying that I'm not a capitalist. But I am! I like spending money! I'm doing a really good job of it right now.
