Ah, Ghent.... I mean Gent, I mean Gand, I mean... what's your name again?

I

I'm really enjoying my hamburger here in the streets of Gent. There were also waffles, fries, spaghetti, chocolate, mussels, and ice cream. And that was the first day in Belgium.

Day 07

Call me weird or odd or... oh, you already do? Fine. I know it's true because one of the things I wasn't looking all excited about for this trip was the food in France. That's not right, right? I know.

BUT, Belgium baby, that's where it's at. I wasn't planning on visiting any other country but Cylinda started having shakes in going through (good) beer withdrawal. So we took the high speed train (they ain't kidding, it was fast) to Brussels and then transferred to another line to get to Gent. It's a medieval city with charming architecture and canals. Our hotel room was at the rooftop level so we had a window we could stick our heads out of to see the city. Here's a nighttime look of the city after I had a few Belgian beers.

Just kidding. I wasn't drunk, but there's got to be a reason for my bad camera work. Anyway, we saw Gravensteen castle that's just right in the middle of town and very well kept for such an old place.
