Day 04 August 19, 2008
Paris, why do you hate us? We're just trying to see your beautiful sights, but you have to rain on us and charge us 4 euro Cokes in cafes while waiting it out. Thanks.
We did a little shopping today - sandals for Cylinda and sports creme for me. It doesn't work really, but it's all I got for my sore legs. The French aren't stocking Ben Gay. Yet. I see a business opening for all the tourists who walk too much.
The Jardin des Tuileries is adjacent to the Louvre so we took a nice rainy stroll through the gardens. They even set up a state fair / carnival just for us. See:
At the other end of the gardens is the Jeu de Paume, a modern photography museum. We saw an exhibit of Richard Avedon who was the Annie Leibovitz of the 1950s and 60s.
Afterwards, we ate dinner at a place where we got to pay 13 euros for a bottle of water. Again, thanks, Paris.
(See photos for more...photos, maybe? I don't know.)
