Day 03

This was an action-packed day for us, mostly catering to Cylinda's every whim. But first, I took care of myself by going to my french conversation class. I took the metro and had lots of self-pride for getting a pass and riding it correctly to my stop. The man who sold me the metro pass told me I had to buy it somewhere else but then proceeded to ring me up. The French!

Anyway, class was fine. I'm not a big talker, but it helps me to get frenchy in my brain. I walk through a very nice park on the way to and from the metro stop so it's a nice way to start the day. I'll be going there every day this week. I'll try to represent our country well, but the Germans, Polish and Brazilian in the class like to tell me what's wrong with America. I mostly agree with them because I have no shame.

So ok, the point of the day was all about Cylinda. She wanted to go to a street full of camera shops to buy a wide-angle lens so we headed to Place de la Bastille. It was a fruit-less search (for the moment) so we walked to Place des Vosges, the first square in Paris. Enough with the squares! I got a snack in the Marais at L'As du Falafel, supposedly one of the best falafel shops in the world. WORLD. I believe it. It was tasty.

We crossed through the Ile de la Cite (the island where Paris began as a place called Lutece) and came upon this.

It's Notre Dame, just in case you live under a rock. I don't know, but I get the idea Cylinda was impressed. Also, don't think my little video camera is defective; the sound you hear is the wind because it was windy as hell.

The night ended with a to-go dinner from Mezzo di Pasta, a fast-food fresh pasta place that we discovered in Nice last year and Cylinda fell in love with. See? All about her.

That's it for the day. Remind us to never ever walk that much again. Thanks.
